Get Off Your Tightrope
I have verbally beaten myself up for not finding a way to live a balanced life. A life that is compartmentalized equally, into nice tidy blocks of perfect amounts of time dedicated to family, friends, creativity, work, yada yada. Well. I have come to the realization that trying to achieve such a balance is near impossible. It is not a realistic metric that should be used to determine how successful or how well one’s life is going in general. Everyday we are given another 24

Vulnerability sucks! Or does it?
Many of you who may be following me on social media, may not know that I am an adult of an alcoholic. I carried with me a story that contained the negative messages, feelings, and emotions, that resulted from a chaotic childhood. I carried those negative cognitive believes into my adulthood. I reached a point in my life where that story no longer was working for me, so I chose to do something about it. I hired a therapist. A badass therapist (“BT”). I am one of the cool kids.

You have Choices
Choices There have been times when I have forgotten that I have choices. It seems that my tendency to forget this is when I have felt stress, or feeling that I didn’t have enough, or that I have failed, and especially when I have felt depressed. My emotional state during those times had clouded my ability to realize that I have choices; that I always have choices. Connection
Connection Connection is one of the most important aspects of the human condition. It is through connection with others we share our stories, find comfort in the challenges of daily life, find love, embrace companionship, and find ways in which to grow. If we feel that a connection or relationship is not serving us in a way that is positive, or allowing us to grow, then

What is Your Legacy?
What is Your Legacy I recently met Ellen Schilling founder and creator of “Unveil Your Legacy.” She creates disk bracelets and necklaces hand stamping each word on the disk. Ellen created her business as a celebration of her brother who succumbed to cancer. Part of her legacy is a monthly contribution she makes to a local charity, The Joy Bus, which provides meals to home bound cancer patients. I could not help but fall in love with her inspiration and desire to make connecti

Be the Inspiration
Inspire Everyday we have the opportunity inspire others. We do this by walking gracefully with good intentions of kindness and compassion. We can inspire others by sharing our thoughts and opinions even when those thoughts and options are different from others. We inspire by engaging in mindful and thoughtful discussions with a goal to come to an better understanding of one another. It does not mean we need to agree with each other but try to find the commonalities from which

Observe
One if the reasons I love visual arts is what it teaches me. My first love will always be that if the photographic image. The camera has given me the beautiful gift of being able to see what many people over look. My camera is the vehicle through which I have been able to observe the world around me, especially people. The ability to to be silent and observe have allowed me to develop to a sense of kindness and compassion for others. Hugs, Peace, and Love, Your Curious Soul.
